We have the privilege of work with the first project in Dominican Republic to automate an Insurance Company.

The Project starts with the codification of all the Clients and Policy only existing in Physical Files. We were advised by a Swiss company that was at the forefront of insurance company automation at the time.

We acquired a significant understanding of how the insurance and reinsurance business works, as well as how to manage operations for policyholders and reinsurers that support insurance companies.

We started as a Junior Programmer and continue as the programmer leader of the project.

Tools:

RPG II language in a System 36 of IBM and after that Upgraded to a System 38 and AS400.

Deep knowledge of the operating system used for the System 36/38 and AS400, as long with the OCL and CL languages.

We created the company DDS and its main product SIS for its first client (La Intercontinental de Seguros, S.A.) in Dominican Republic.

In 1987, DDS began the work of programming a system, after an arduous task of analysis and design, and having then, the experience of seven years designing and programming systems for insurances companies.

A flexible system with the possibility of adapting to changes, a modular system, but at the same time integrated and that will avoid duplication of effort and offer to the user a friendly environment.

Developing application around the main core of the company “Phoenix” from Allenbrok’s.

Learning how to share data between the local tool developed for us and integrate with the Phoenix System.

Learning proprietary language of allenbrok’s called arttree to program the rates to be applied to every combination of the MVR records for each Driver and the symbol of the vehicle in the Policy.

CQH another propietary tool to send and receive data from the core system called “Phoenix’.

Upgrade of the SIS system to the new version called SISme, the prefix “me” stand for the new millennium, and this new system was written using Visual Basic 6 as a new programming language and with SQL Server as a Database Manager. This windows base new application was installed in the company “La Colonial de Seguros” in Dominican Republic.
